Welcome to Holworthy Farm

Welcome to Holworthy Farm a 200-acre livestock farm on the banks of Wimbleball Lake, situated in the heart of Somerset This peaceful valley was flooded in 1977 to create one of the most scenic reservoirs ever. Idyllic for walking, fishing, exploring nature trails and the pretty villages and escape from the pressures of life.

Exmoor National Park has been designated the first International Dark Skies Reserve. If you are interested in seeing the stars then Holworthy Farm on Exmoor is a splendid location.

Guests may come and go as they please and if I am around there is always a complimentary tray of tea or coffee and homemade biscuits available.

Dinner is optional but needs to be ordered the night before. I use local produce wherever possible and all meals are freshly prepared and the homemade desserts are complimented with clotted cream. Tea, coffee and mints are served afterwards in the sitting room If guests have special diets please let me know in advance. Guests are welcome to bring wine or spirits to the table.

We have AA accreditation of: Dinner Exceeds Quality requirements Star/Diamond rating.

January 2008 Country Wide Films Productions made a film in the area called The Brendon Hills in January, Country Ways. We were one of the 5 local businesses featured on it. It was shown on ITV. For the past 6 years Ironman 70.3 has been held at Wimbleball, an amazing event!

Children of all ages are welcome we have a cot and high chair.

We do not allow dogs in the house accept guide dogs. But you may leave them in the car.

The parish is called Brompton Regis or King's Brompton as it was known as because the manor belonged to the king in Doomsday times, when it was called Brunetone. The name may, however, derive from a visit by King Stephen. Brompton may mean town near broom
