Holworthy farm is situated on the edge of Wimbleball Lake on Exmoor; it is a 200-acre sheep and beef farm. When the lake was created it took 120 acres of the farm. We over look the bay called Cow Moor, which we grazed with cattle before it was flooded. The walk around the lake is 13 miles with plenty of things to see from kingfishers, willow sculptures, and the dam. The tearooms provide a pleasant resting place. There are plenty of water sports from sailing to windsurfing to have a go at, or take a trip in the Wheely boat around the lake The lake is stocked with rainbow trout which are very tasty to eat. Permits are obtained over at the office at the water sport centre. For the younger members of the family there is a wooded play area.
Further a field we have the West Somerset Railway where you can sit and relax and watch the county side and pretty villages go by. If you are in for some history Dunster Castle is a must and also Cleeve Abbey. We have several national trust houses with beautiful gardens close by and of course the moors are just a short drive away where you can see the ponies, red deer and stunning views.
